3rd Annual Kids Bike Rodeo
The third annual Kid's Bike Rodeo took place Friday morning, June 19, 2009 in Monroe. The event was held by the Monroe Police department and featured free helmuts, an obstacle course, and bicycle inspections.

Monroe Crossings Park Phase II
The city of Monroe recently completed Phase II of Monroe Crossings Park located on State Route 63. The new amenities include the completion of a three acre BMX track, a playground, additional parking, a trail, sewer laterals and water and electric lines.

Kids All American Fishing Derby
More than 175 children were registered to participate in the 17th annual Kids All American Fishing Derby held June 6, 2009. The free event was held by the Middletown Division of Recreation at Smith Pond. Children ages 4-16 caught fish stocked in the pond by the division of recreation. The fish were then weighed and kept in a holding tank. Prizes were given for the categories of biggest fish, smallest fish and most fish caught in three age groups.
