Car strikes sound barrier, rolls

A single-vehicle crash occurred late Tuesday, June 9, on Ohio 129, Butler County Sheriff's deputies said. The driver, Shawn Dane of Liberty Twp., apparently lost control and struck the sound barrier. The car rolled and the driver was ejected, but suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Edgewood teacher skydives

Missy Mefford, a special education teacher at Edgewood High School, won a charity contest to skydive at Star Skydiving at the Warren County Airport. She raised about $300 for Oprah Winfrey's O Ambassadors program. It was her first time skydiving (with her instructor Bud Prenatt) and she called it "intense" and said she would love to do it again.
